TdH NL delegation to attend ISPCAN

During the week of October 5 – 9 October, seven colleagues from Terre des Hommes Netherlands will travel from Delhi, Brussels, Nairobi and The Hague to share our work on preventing and stopping child exploitation in its multiple forms, in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The annual ISPCAN Congress brings together hundreds of people from around the world – in academia and in practice – working in child protection, to improve coordination of systems and provide better support for children and families in the early childhood development phases of growth to ensure healthy futures.
This year’s congress is on ‘Child Well-Being in a Changing Reality’ where one of the key focuses is the empowerment of child victims and survivors. It is critical that we centre their rights, needs and well-being. Children who witness or experience trauma are more aware than we realise, and it is our responsibility to guide and support them, preventing recantation and ensuring their voices are heard. Special attention will be given to extra-vulnerable groups such as children in foster care, LGBTQI+ youth, and those with disabilities.
- On Sunday 5 October, you will find our Kenya Country Director Magdalene Wanza Muoki co-facilitating a pre-conference workshop on Child Safeguarding.
Find her from 8:30-12:30 in room Beta 2.
- From Monday 6 October until Wednesday 8 October we will have 3 posters on display.
