We are committed to end Child Labour and Online Sexual Exploitation.
Our mission is to protect children by preventing and stopping child exploitation. Through targeted programs, we provide essential aid to children in crisis, helping them escape dangerous situations and gain access to safe environments, education, and healthcare.
Our focus
The images are fake. The harm is real.
Young people around the world are increasingly exposed to online sexual abuse and online sexual harassment. Offenders are using artificial intelligence (AI) to turn innocent photos into sexually explicit images without a child’s knowledge or consent.
Children can then be manipulated, threatened or blackmailed into sharing more images. Once shared, these images can circulate online indefinitely. The consequences can be devastating, affecting a child’s safety, mental wellbeing and future.
This is not a distant problem. It can happen to any child.
Stronger protections are urgently needed. Terre des Hommes continues to advocate for stronger legislation at European level and better enforcement of existing laws at national level to prevent online sexual exploitation of children. We will keep raising this issue with policymakers and decision-makers until children are better protected online.
