Websites
We also keep personal data for the improvement of our services. For example, click behavior on the website to analyze which articles are read the most and open rates to see if our newsletters are relevant.
For this purpose, we store cookies in your internet browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer) when you visit the websites. There are different types of cookies, in addition to the necessary ones that you can manage. Read more about cookies.
We use Google Analytics to see how website visitors like you use our website without storing your personal data. We only keep track of things like the order in which you view pages and how long you have them open. In short, we do not keep track of your personal information through Google Analytics and we do not share it with Google. Check out our explanation of how we use Google Analytics and the processing agreement we have entered into.
What information does Terre des Hommes collect and why?
We process the following personal data:
- Personal data (such as name, gender, date of birth) and contact details (such as address, e-mail address and telephone number) in order to process your questions and requests, to register for our events, to contact you about updates and fundraising activities (we call you a maximum of twice a year), to provide you with information when you take action for us (e.g. at www.terredeshommes.nl or https://terredeshommes.kentaa.com/).
- Financial data (such as bank details) to process and keep track of your donations and structural donations.
- Data about your support to Terre des Hommes (such as the amounts you donate).
- If you give us your consent – by allowing cookies – we collect your IP address, your social ID, and we monitor your browsing behaviour so that we can track your involvement and show you online information that matches your interests, needs and involvement.
- In order to be as relevant as possible in our communication on social media, such as Facebook and Instagram, we use ‘custom audiences’. By means of these target groups we can, for example, ensure that you are no longer approached with advertisements, or if we want to share something specifically with you. In this way, our communication is as relevant as possible for you. For this we upload certain data such as e-mail addresses to these social media platforms. This is always done in a secure way, with the data encrypted. If you do not want this, please let us know via privacy@tdh.nl. It is also possible to change your ad settings via Facebook.
We may also use (parts of) the above data to:
- Analyze our fundraising activities.
- Improve our services and communication to and with you by conducting surveys after you have attended one of our events or meetings or, for example, by conducting donor surveys.
- You wish to register if you appoint us as executor of your will.
- Put you on a suppression list when you ask us to stop contacting you, so that we can comply with this as best we can.
Updates fundraising communication & evaluate fundraising activities
We do fundraising campaigns (online, by mail, telemarketing and face to face) to raise funds for our work and to let you know what Terre des Hommes is doing and how your support is making a difference. We will always respect your preferences and try to send you information that you find interesting, in the form you prefer.
You can unsubscribe from our campaigns and communications
If you don’t want ads to be shown on social media, you can unsubscribe from these platforms.
Please note: it is possible that you will still see our advertisements when you fall into a general target group that we focus our ad on.
